Christian celebrate Jesus's birthday on the 25th of December so many others are celebrating the end of year, and there is no protocol concerning that, the word on the street is "celebration".
You don't need to be a Christian to do this. However while preparing to celebrate, many things take place for example, crime increases, fight  increases, rifts increases, traffic increases, price of food increases.  But if you live in Lagos state, you must know about some of the Crime Flash Points in the state, so tread softly:

* BADAGARY  Express: from Mile2 bus stop to Badagry Bus stop be always alert, robbers on this route sometimes operate like hawker just to get access to your assets and some of them are armed, they take advantage of
the traffic situation on this route. One chance drivers ( the robbers and ritualists who pretend to be commercial bus drivers ) they love this route.

*IJORA Bus/stop: at night? please leave fast especially if there is no police presence. And be careful the passenger sitting next to you in a bus might be a thief, he could snatch your bag and jump out of the bus. Don't wait to experience it now.

* COSTAIN Bus/Stop: If your steal here after 11p.m then 'sorry' is your middle name. They will steal everything from you including the clothes on your body. God bless you they leave your boxer. From there to National Theater and the back of National Theater is quite unsafe, the combine patrol of National Theater police post and Iponri police is presence at night but security is a personal business.

* MASHA/ SHITTA  Bus-stop Surulere is hot at night, be carefully when you walk casually with a laptop bag hanging on your back at Falolu road late at night, its quite risky.

* IDI-ORO bus/stop, Mushin: Don't joke with a place like this even in the afternoon. The hoodlums live behind Alamutu Market and the back Cinema building, they strike at anytime because they must get to Akala and meet personal demand (hard drug). Its not every time you will have network on your phone to call Emergency - some lines can be quite busy.

* Dopemu under bridge Agege. Don't be seen here too early in the morning. Ritualists and robbers pretending to be commercial bus (One Chance)  are abound here. And on the top of the bridge at night is quite dangerous as robbers on motorbike will rob snatch anything from your hand (whether it was baby used diapers meant for the refuse bin).

* Oniwaya Road-Agege: Hmmmm, the robbers who operate here have vowed to celebrate the Yuletide in style with other people's sweat. So if you come out on this road early in the mornings watch and in the night too beware of robbers on Motorbikes, the Awawa boys move in the night too.
*Agege Pen Cinema: This place is dangerous at both night and early morning, you won't even know when they stripe you of your belongings.

*Town Planning way-Ilupeju. On this road, robbers on motorcycles don't wait till midnight, they are out as early as 8.30p.m due to the quietness of the area so what are doing here at night? They are always armed to snatch handbags from ladies. thank God for the commercial tricycles on this road though theory don't stay beyond 10.00p.m

* JIBOWU-bus/stop Yaba. Warn your self, no one needs to caution you about a place like this. If they rob you, you will later see your destroyed bag and wallet along the railway line- Fadeyi- Axis, so take note.
*Herbert Macaulay Way by Yabatech is a dangerous place at night. So keep moving don't stop, security starts with you.

* AJEGUNLE-Jungle City; If you don't live in Ajegunle don't go visiting there in the night for now, the hoodlums there have imposed curfew on the  community. Some parts of Ajegunle are in total chaos. SARRS present is very visible and they have started feeling the impact. Hmmmm, they asked for it, Ajegunle is a confirmed  Flash Point. So Special Anti-Robbery Response Squad is welcomed.

The Lagos Police Command is working tiredlessly to bring  sanity to all the above mentioned places. Crimes happen everywhere even at places you least expected. So watch it and don't be a victim, its painful and sometimes attracts stigma. Take care of yourself and yours this season. One love.
