4 Students, 2 Teachers Kidnapped In Lagos

Four secondary school students in Igbonla Senior and Junior Model College in Epe Local Government Area and two teachers were yesterday kidnapped by suspected armed kidnappers in Lagos
.
 Our correspondent learnt that the kidnappers, numbering about seven, had invaded the school premises at about 8 AM when students were having a special session at the hall and shut sporadically into the air before kidnapping the victims, which included a vice principal and head teacher.
 It was further gathered that men of the Rapid Response Squad, (RRS) of the state Police Command are already combing the entire area in search of the kidnapped victims.
 According to sources, the kidnappers came in a speed boat from one of the creeks and marched all their captors to the waiting boat.
 Confirming the kidnap, Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, ASP.Dolapo Badmos, said that four students and two teachers were kidnapped by the unknown gunmen within the school premises.
 Badmos noted that through the efforts of the security officers, two of the students were rescued from the unknown gunmen.
 The PPRO assured residents of Lagos State that security personnel have been deployed to the scene to ensure prompt rescue of the kidnapped victims.
 The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule also said she immediately visited Igbonla Senior and Junior Model College in the suburb of Epe, where four students and two teachers were kidnapped by a gang of suspected Ijaw militants, just as she assured that government would work assiduously to ensure prompt rescue of the victims.
