The enraged husband
reportedly came home late on the said night with a jerrycan of
petroleum after he had quarreled with the wife earlier in the day and
sprayed his wife while she was cooking in the kitchen.
The incident happened at Olomoore in Abeokuta North area of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Sources revealed that the woman had earlier attended a naming ceremony of her niece and told the man on phone that she was going for another family party before coming home that night. Keji reportedly turned down the request and insisted to deal with the woman if she attends the family party which she did. Fatimo suffered severe burnt on all part of her body while part of the kitchen also got burnt in the process. Keji who was said to be a popular politician and land speculator in Ita Oshi area of the state capital immediately rushed the wife to Akin Olugbade hospital where she died in the early hours of Monday, April 2.
