The Police in the United Kingdom have said that the arrest warrant issued against former governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye is still valid.

A retired Metropolitan Police Officer, Peter Clarke, who testified before Justice Adebukola Banjoko of a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory said Metropolitan Police in the UK have been placed on red alert to arrest Dariye if he steps into that country.
He however admitted that Dariye had opened his foreign account long before he became a state governor.
Dariye, now a senator is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on a 23-count charge bordering on money laundering and diversion of funds, continued yesterday with the anti-graft agency presenting its witness before Justice Adebukola Banjoko, of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja.
Dariye is accused of diverting about N1.2 billion from the state’s Ecological Fund, to private companies and individuals.
Since his first arraignment on July 13, 2007 at the Federal High Court, Abuja, he had denied any wrongdoing and had his legal team filed several motions to delay the trial.
