Police Kill 2 Hoodlums, Injure 2 Others In Delta Communities

The Police in Ughelli town in Delta State have shot dead two robbery suspects from two different gangs in Ughelli and Oghara, both in the  state last Sunday, while two others escaped with bullet wounds.
A combined team of police operatives and Vigilante in Ughelli were  said to have mobilized to Oteri bush in Ughelli following a tip off  that three suspected armed men who had just concluded robbery operations were sighted  at the bush.

According to a police statement, the hoodlums on sighting the combined  team inside the Oteri bush, opened fire on them.
In the ensuring  battle, one of the criminals was allegedly gunned down, while the  other two members of the gang escaped with bullet wounds.
In the same vein, following a distress call that a Toyata Hiace bus  was under attack by armed robbers along Sapele/Benin Road, Oghara, the  DPO in-charge of the area swiftly dispatched a patrol team to the scene.
The statement released by the Police public relations officer, Delta  State C0ommand, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, explained that the hoodlums on  sighting the patrol men engaged them in a shootout and in the  process, one of the three bandits was gunned down, while the  remaining two escaped.
One cut-to-size gun, one live and two expended cartridges were  reportedly recovered from the bandits.
The commercial driver of the bus told the police that the hoodlums boarded the vehicle as passengers at Ring Road Benin City, Edo State enroute Warri, Delta  State.
According to him, on getting to Koko Junction in Delta State, one of  the hoodlums shot him on his left hand and took over his vehicle  steering.
