Man, 22, Docked For Allegedly Threatening To Assassinate His Former Boss

Obasi is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, demanding for money with threat to life and attempted assassination.
The Prosecutor, ASP Ignatius Okeke, told the court that the accused and one other at large committed the offences on Jan. 21 at Surulere, Lagos.
He said that the accused threatened to assassinate his former employer, Mr Ekenedilichukwu Udoji and demanded N500, 000 ransom.

“The accused wrote a letter to his former employer and dropped it with the security guard at the gate.
“He identified himself as shadow assassin and he claimed that he had been paid to waste Udoji’s life.
“Obasi demanded for the sum of N500, 000 for him not to carry out the assassination,” he said.
Okeke said that during investigation, the police traced the accused to his residence at No. 9 Sholanke St., by Mechanic Bus Stop, Itire, Lagos, where he was apprehended.
He said that the charges contravened Sections 230, 300 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The accused however denied the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Ade Adefulire, granted him bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till April 4 for further hearing.
