JAIZ foundation, an organ of the JAIZ Bank has on Tuesday
facilitated the freedom of 14 persons jailed in Gusau Medium prison for
various debt related offenses.
The foundation has earlier facilitated the release of 62 in Kano, 12 in Katsina, 15 in Kaduna and planned to extend similar gestures to 13 others in Sokoto.
The chairman board of trustees JAIZ Charity and Development Foundation, Dr. Umaru Abdulmutallab, who is also the chairman board of directors of JAIZ Bank, said the foundation was initiated to serve as a last resort for the poor and less privileged who are in dire need of assistance when faced with certain predicament.
Dr Umaru who was represented by a member board of trustees of the foundation, Engineer Garba Muhammad who administered the liberation ceremony at the Gusau prison, said in addition the facilitation of the prisoners’ freedom, the foundation also provided humanitarian services and needed facilities like bore holes, drugs and medication, blankets, uniforms and many other items to many similar institutions.
He advised wealthy individuals and and public spirited organizations in the society to endeavor taking a visit to prisons and other similar institutions.ss an assess the conditions of the poor who are in desperate need for assistance to gain freedom from prisons or attain recovery from certain ailment.
