DOCKED: Man In Court Over Illegal Petrol Sale
The accused is facing a two-count charge bordering on the offence. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Justice Saliu Saidu ordered the remand of the accused in custody and adjourned the case till Dec. 29 for hearing of his bail application.
Earlier prosecution counsel, Mrs Rita Ezeli, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on December 2. She said that he was arrested at about 11.22 a.m. at Ajido Waterside in Badagry, Lagos State, on a tip-off.
Ezeli said the accused conspired with some others at large to sell petroleum products without lawful authority or appropriate licence.
She said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 1 (17) and 3 (6) of the Miscellanous offence Act, 2004. (NAN)
