Police arrest suspected pickpockets at funeral

WARRI—TWO suspected pickpockets were weekend apprehended before getting away with an iPhone and an unspecified sum of money stolen from the pocket of a traditional ruler at a funeral service in Effurun, Delta State.
The suspects in their early 30s, had invaded the venue of the funeral service of Chief Torch Oritseweyinmi Taire, and had strategically positioned themselves before luck ran out on them.
One of the suspects was caught in the act by an undertaker at the grave side while the corpse was being lowered into the grave.
Upon a body search by a combined team of police and military personnel present, the phone and a wad of cash was found in the pocket of the suspect who was immediately taken away with his accomplice.
