Man hacked to death while trying to settle warring neighbours in Lagos

A peacemaker identified as Kunle Abiola has been hacked to death while attempting to separate two warring neighbours in Ajegunle area of Lagos State.

Abiola met his death in the hands of one Chinonso over the weekend while trying to separate two of his neighbours from fighting.

Chinomso, while confessing to the crime after been nabbed by the police, disclosed that he never thought of stabbing the deceased to death, adding that it was accidental.

It was gathered that two warring neighbours were quarrelling over a minor issue which later degenerated into exchange of blows.

Kunle was said to have tried to settle both warring factions and in the process was stabbed to death.

A resident identified as Ibrahim said: “He stabbed Kunle in the jaw and chest. Some people called the police and Chinomso was arrested. Kunle was rushed to the General Hospital at Ajegunle.”

The deceased was said to have given up the ghost on the way to the hospital.

Kenneth Nwosu, the State Police spokesperson could not confirm the incident as he is yet to receive any of such report.
